Having now run 15 Marathons amongst numerous other races, last years NYC Marathon ranks as one of the most amazing race experiences ever. Words can not begin to describe the atmosphere and what marathon weekend is like in New York City. 

During last years race I was lucky enough to meet Dave Pretorius - who has now become a now very good friend. Dave is an incredible man, and absolutely amazing Father. He, his wonderful wife Natasha & his daughters have welcomed me with open arms almost as a part of their family, like a brother to Dave and "Uncle" to Alex and Holly.

What Dave and his family went thru 8 years ago is beyond imagination. Being a Father of 3 myself I could not imagine not only losing a child but having another child paralysed. Their family is incredible and such a joy to be around.

This year I am so excited to be part of the Catwalk charity team raising money for spinal research. Dave has shared with me some of the amazing progress being made right here in NZ in this area & I have the same belief as he does that our efforts in raising money for this great charity will result in Holly being able to walk again!

Your support in this effort no matter how big or small is most appreciated / whether it be via sponsoring me personally and/or also to spread the word amongst your network of people, contacts, etc. Those who know me know that I don’t do things by halves & I have a lofty goal of $5000+ to raise for this cause!
